Big City Signs | Graphics was selected to produce this hand painted mural, making this work by June Edmonds larger than life. We just completed it in mid-July 2021.

Below are some details, and how-it-was-done info.

You can find more info about the artist and the location at this link.

The Murals of La Jolla organization approached me with their desire to install a new public art project on a building in town that’s seen several projects painted there. After working out the details, the project was scheduled for mid-July 2021.

We started with a mock-up (below):

When painting day arrived, we had all 42 colors on hand. The previous mural art had faded, it was time to make the wall like-new.

First, everything was power-washed. Then, primed. After that, the paper pattern full size layout was applied. After that, three days of painting.
