Recent work - PRODUCE LA hand painted super graphics project - LA ARTS DISTRICT

Just completed this hand painted environmental graphics / super graphics / mural project out in the LA Arts District in the downtown Los Angeles area.

Starting at the beginning of my involvement in the project, here is how everything looked in January 2021…

Produce LA hand painted sign layout

At the site, after thorough cleaning we applied the paper pattern with pounce powder, then traced the outlines and color separation lines so we would be able to see them after applying primer.

The galvanized metal surface needed to be primed in only the areas each letter would be, leaving the metal showing through.

Each of the 24 colors had a paint reference name/number we worked with the client to develop.

The video below shows the progress of the project. At the end of every day we took a photo from the same corner, showing progress from start to finish.
