Marketing Signage
Marketing signage is distinct from Advertising Signage as it persuasively defines your offering, and connect potential buyers with sellers, communicating the advantages of the product or service. Signs play a part - reinforcing the "brand" and all that it promises.
Signage can be extremely effective for marketing because it's out-of-home - meaning the viewer is out on their daily errands or activities, and if your offering appeals to a need or desire they may well pursue it further by visiting the site, calling the number, etc.
Here are some samples:

Etnies,
I believe, are marketing geniuses. They make their
logo/brand stickers available easily - the kids who
use their skateboard shoes can show their coolness.
Here we painted their logo on a store building at the
LA County Fair…

Crown
Books Liquidation Center is all over Southern
California. The promise of the brand: Stop in when
you're looking for an adventure, you never know what
treasures you'll find…

Service
Solutions reinforces their vehicle branding, which
promises cool, comfortable climate, with their
directory advertising.

3
Day Blinds wants to reinforce a feeling of style,
quality, and service at affordable prices.

Verizon's
brand is everywhere, very attractive to the eye and
very effective.

This
sign is simply putting a label on a facility -
however, the label carries with it a promise of
wholesomeness, development for young girls into women
of character, and a point of access for these traits.
Combined with other marketing tools (TV, radio,
print, direct mail, etc.), signage that is well
designed and consistent with your brand identity can
powerfully reinforce the client's perception of it.
